Shoulder dislocation (instability)
Bone Block / Eden-Hybinette Procedure
The Eden-Hybinette procedure involves using an autograft (typically from the iliac crest) or allograft to reconstruct the anterior glenoid surface. This is often performed when the coracoid process is unsuitable for Latarjet, such as in revision surgeries or failed previous procedures. It restores the bony contour and enhances stability, particularly in patients with >25% glenoid bone loss. Fixation is usually done with screws. This technique offers flexibility in graft size and position but requires careful post-operative rehabilitation and monitoring for graft integration. Itβs a valuable option in complex or recurrent instability with large bone defects.
