DAS (Dynamic Anterior Stabilization)

DAS is a relatively new technique used to augment anterior shoulder stability, particularly in patients with minimal glenoid bone loss but recurrent dislocations. It involves transferring the long head of the biceps tendon to the anterior glenoid rim, creating a dynamic sling that resists anterior translation during movement. This technique is less invasive than bony procedures and maintains normal anatomy. DAS can be an effective alternative in cases where traditional Bankart repair may be insufficient but bone procedures like Latarjet are not yet necessary. It’s ideal for young athletes with minimal bone loss who require early return to sport.
